Directed by Michael Showalter

Helmed by Michael Showalter, the film is based on the bestselling novel Verity by Colleen Hoover.

The project also marks Showalter’s reunion with Hathaway after The Idea of You. The film is slated for a theatrical release on October 2.

Overview

The story follows Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), a struggling writer hired to complete a bestselling series after its author, Verity Crawford (Hathaway), is left incapacitated following an accident.

Lowen moves into Verity’s home to review her notes but instead discovers an unfinished autobiography that reveals chilling secrets about Verity’s past, her marriage, and the deaths of her children.

As Lowen grows closer to Verity’s husband, Jeremy (Josh Hartnett), she is forced to question what is real—and what is not.
