Kingston:  Sprint legend Usain Bolt on Monday released a video on social media and announced he is self-quarantining after undergoing a COVID-19 test.

Jamaican former sprinter and eight-time Olympic gold medallist  is still awaiting results of the test.

"Just to be safe, I will quarantine myself," he said in a video post.

" I am having no symptoms," he said.

The 34-year-old athlete urged his friends: "I will call my friends and tell them once they came in contact with me to be safe, quarantine and take it easy."

Bolt, who has set several Olympic records in his career, was last seen competing internationally at the 2017 World Championships in London.
