Amit Mishra takes five as India beat NZ to clinch match, series

Visakhapatnam, Oct 29 (IBNS): Amit Mishra picked up five wickets as he destroyed New Zealand and gifted India 190 runs victory and a series win here on Saturday.

Posting 269 runs for the loss of six wickets, Indian batsmen finished their task in style while the bowlers joined the party later and bowled out the opponents at 79 runs, gifting Indians a special Diwali gift.

Kane Williamson (27) and Ross Taylor (19) and Ross Taylor (19) were the only three batsmen who reached the double digit figure for New Zealand while the remaining line-up had a bad outing during the crucial fifth match of the series.

Axar Patel took two wickets by Mishra completely damaged New Zealand's party by picked up five wickets.

He gave away 18 runs in his six overs.

Williamson hit four boundaries in his 40-ball knock but the match once again showed New Zealand batsmen and their trouble in facing spin bowling.

India clinched the series 3-2 with the win.

Earlier, India posted 269 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Virat Kohli (65) and Rohit Sharma (70)  remained the top scorer for the side.

Sharma smashed five boundaries and three sixes in the knock.

MS Dhoni, hitting four boundaries and six, in his 59-ball 41 runs innings.

Patel hit 24 runs and Kedar Jadhav added 39 unbeaten runs at the end.
