Azlan Shah Cup Hockey: India maul Pakistan 5-1, stay in medal contention

Kuala Lumpur, Apr 12 (IBNS) Playing an all important match against arch-rivals in the prestigious Azlan Shah Cup on Tuesday, India mauled Pakistan 5-1 to win the match and stayed in the medal contention, as they moved to the second spot in the leader board, following Australia.

India's SV Sunil, top scored with two goals, while Manpreet Singh, Talwinder Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh converting one each to give their side a much needed win.

Though Pakistan's skipper Muhammad Irfan leveled the score, it all went downhill for them as the Indian men displayed a spirited performance to score goals at ease.

The defenders too guarded the post beautifully, allowing limited space for the men from the neighbouring nation to take their chances.
