New Delhi, Apr 30 (IBNS): Delhi Daredevils managed to script a 27 runs victory against Kolkata Knight Riders on their home turf here on Saturday.

Posting 186 for the loss of eight wickets, Delhi bowlers then completed task by restricting KKR at 159 all out with nine balls to spare to clinch a crucial victory.

Robin Uthappa attempted to give Delhi a tough battle with his 72 off 52 balls, hammering six boundaries and two sixes in his knock. But after he departed, hopes turned bleak for the visitors.

The rest of the KKR bating line up failed to click in the match.

Skipper Zaheer Khan and Carlos Brathwaite picked up three wickets each for Delhi.

Earlier, riding on Karun Nair (68) and Sam Billings (54) runs knocks, Delhi posted a competitive total on the scorecard. West Indian champion Brathwaite, who had played  a match-winning knock in the World T20 final, showed his power as he hammered three boundaries and an equal number of sixes in his 11-ball 34 runs knock.

By virtue of his allround skills, he was named the Player of the match.

Umesh Yadav and Andre Russell took three wickets each for the visiting side.
