Birmingham, June 30 (IBNS): England won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the group stage match of the World Cup here on Sunday.

The match is crucial for England as a win here will keep their hope alive of reaching the semi-finals round of the tournament.

Indian cricketers are wearing their new away jersey in the match for the first time in the history of the game.

The team management made a major change in the Indian side as wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, who entered the team after Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the tournament due to injury, has been added to the team.
