England women win T20 series

Guwahati, Mar 9 (UNI): The England women beat India by one run in the last T20 match here at Assam Cricket Association Stadium in a nail-biting finish which helped the visiting side to win the series 3-0.

After winning the toss, the English side put up 119 in the 20 overs losing 6 wickets. Chasing a modest total, the Indian women fell short by 1 run in the last over.

Skipper Smriti Mandhana scored a 39-ball 58 but that was not enough to see her team through. Former captain Mithali Raj remained unbeaten at 30 of 32 balls.
