England’s Tom Curran to replace Mitchell Starc in Kolkata Knight Riders’ squad
Kolkata, Apr 2 (IBNS): The Kolkata Knight Riders have picked All-rounder Tom Curran as the replacement for Mitchell Starc.
Curran was picked for INR 1.62 crore from the Registered and Available Player Pool (RAPP) list.
The 23-year-old made his T20I debut against South Africa last year and is known to be a proven performer in shorter formats, the BCC I said in a statement.
Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out from the upcoming Indian Premier League due to injury.
The left-armer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for $1.8 million during the auction held in January.
However, he will not be seen in the tournament this year.
After Steve Smith and David Warner were banned by Cricket Australia, they will not be seen in the IPL this season.
Starc is the third player who has been ruled out from participating in the tournament.
IPL will start from Apr 7.
