Durban, Feb 1 (IBNS): Boasting on a marvelous hundred by skipper Faf du Plessis, South Africa have set 270 runs as target for India in the first ODI match of the bilateral competition, which began on Thursday.

South Africa scored 269/8 in 50 overs.

Faf scored 120 runs from 112 balls.

None of the other batsmen could score a 50 in the entire innings.

Despite getting a good start in the first 15 overs, South Africa lost too many wickets to reduce to 134/5 at one stage.

Chris Morris contributed 37 runs with bat lower down the order.

Indian spin bowlers were right on top in Durban. While Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal clinched 2 wickets.
