First T20: England W beat India W by 18 runs (DLS method)

Northampton/IBNS: England Women defeated India Women by 18 runs as per DLS method in rain-interrupted first T20 match here on Friday.

Winning the toss, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur had elected to bowl first.

Batting first, England scored 177/7 in 20 overs.

While N Sciver scored 55 runs for England, Shikha Pandey clinched three wickets for India.

In reply, India scored 54/3 in 8.4 overs when rain stopped the play.

India fell short of the revised target of 18 runs.

Smriti Mandhana was the top scorer for India with his 29-run knock.
