Mumbai, Sept 16 (IBNS): Former Indian captain Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday shared a video where he set an example for his fans by immersing Lord Ganesha's statue in an eco-friendly manner.

Sachin could be seen in the video immersing the Lord in a bucket full of water.

He urged his fans to follow the similar eco-friendly method and tweeted: " This year, we immersed our Bappa at home in an eco-friendly way and I would request you to do the same too. I believe that God would want us to take care of our Mother Earth and an eco-friendly celebration of #GaneshChaturthi is the way forward. #GanpatiBappaMorya."

Ganesh festival was observed across India last week.

However, the epicenter of the celebration remains Mumbai.
