Fourth Test: Morne Morkel's dual strike keep India under check

| | Dec 05, 2015, at 06:03 pm
New Delhi, Dec 5 (IBNS) Starting out their second innings in the morning of the third day of the fourth Test against South Africa, India faced a hostile spell of pace bowling from Morne Morkel to slump to 8 runs for the loss of 2 wickets but played with caution to keep the Proteas attack at bay before lunch was taken, here on Saturday.

After skittling out the visitors for 121 in a session and a half yesterday, India with the virtue of their 51 runs have extended their lead to 264 runs and still has 8 wickets at hand.

Shikhar Dhawan, the birthday boy, played an unusual role as he kept on leaving balls outside his off-stump and scored just the 20 runs in 2 hours.

Providing him company is Cheteshwar :Pujara, who scored 27 runs with the help of 3 boundaries.

Earlier in the morning, Murali Vijay was a tad unlucky to be adjudged out as the replay show the ball brushing his arm guard, before Dane Vilas claimed the catch.

Rohit Sharma's woeful form continued as he was sent back for a golden duck by Morkel.
