Gautam Gambhir and his KKR defeat SRH by 17 runs

Kolkata, Apr 15 (IBNS): Gautam Gambhir and his men presented people of Bengal their Bengali New Year gift when the home side defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs in an IPL encounter here on Saturday.

After posting competitive 172 for the loss of six wickets, Sunrisers were restricted by the home team's bowlers at 155 runs for the loss of six.

David Warner and Yuvraj Singh remained the top scorers for Hyderabad side with each scoring 26 runs each.

Bipul Sharma attempted some late fight with his 14-ball 21 runs, slamming two boundaries a six.

Chris Woakes picked up two wickets for KKR.

Robin Uthappa (68) and Manish Pandey (46) of Sunrisers Hyderabad added 77 runs in the third wicket partnership which helped Kolkata Knight Riders post 172 runs for the loss of six wickets in an IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Uthappa  it five boundaries and four sixes in his 39-ball knock.

Yusuf Pathan hammered a boundary and a six in his 15-ball 21 runs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Sunrisers Hyderabad picked up three wickets.
