Gunneswaran bows out in third round in ATP Masters 1000 in California

Chandigarh, Mar 12 (UNI): Prajnesh Gunneswaran's journey at Indian Wells came to an end after he lost 3-6, 6-7 to world No. 89 Ivo Karlovic in the third round early here on Monday.

Karlovic, a residence of Miami (USA), ranked 89th fired 16 aces and committed three double faults. Forty-year-old Karlovic used all his experience to get the better of 29-year-old Gunneswaran, ranked 97th. Karlovic saved both breakp points he faced and won one out of break points. Karlovic won 39 out of 46 points on first service and 13 out of 21 on the second service. His first service was 69 per cent in.

India No 1 player Prajnesh Gunneswaran, winner two ATP Challenger Tour titles, unleashed four aces and committed two double faults. His first service was 65 per cent in. He won 28 out of 39 points on first service and 14 out of 21 on second service. Prajnesh saved one out of two break points but muffed two break points.

His earning from ATP Masters 1000 is $ 48,775 (singles) and 45 ATP points.
