Manchester, June 16 (IBNS): India beat Pakistan by 89 runs, according to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, in the high-voltage Cricket World Cup match here at Old Trafford on Sunday.

After play resumed following a break forced by rain, Pakistan needed 136 runs to win from five overs.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and set India to bat first in the match that was interrupted by rain on two occasions.

India made 336 losing five wickets at the end of 50 overs.
