India's Tulika Maan bags silver in Judo at Commonwealth Games

Birmingham/IBNS: India's Tulika Maan won the silver medal in Judo at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

She gave her best against Sarah Adlington of Scotland in Women's +78kg Gold medal bout to settle for the silver.

In his congratulatory tweet, PM Modi said: "Tulika Maan shines at the Birmingham games! Congratulations to her on winning the Silver medal in Judo. This medal is yet another accolade in her distinguished sporting career. Wishing her the very best for her upcoming endeavours."

In the men's singles squash bronze medal match, Saurav Ghosal won against England's James Willstrop. This is India's first singles medal n squash at the CWG.

Congratulating him, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote: "It is a delight to see
@SauravGhosal scaling new heights of success. The Bronze medal he’s won in Birmingham is a very special one. Congratulations to him. May his achievements help boost the popularity of squash among India’s youth."

On Wednesday, Lovepreet Singh bagged a bronze medal in men's 109kg weightlifting while boxers Nitu Ganghas (women's 48kg) and Hussam Uddin Mohammed (men's 57kg) advanced to the semi-finals to assure India of two more medals.

India have so far won five gold, five silver and five bronze medals in CWG 2022.
