IPL 2018 kicks start with Chennai Super Kings-Mumbai Indians clash

Mumbai, Apr 7 (IBNS): With a glamarous opening ceremony followed by the match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) started on Saturday.

In the opening ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and southern star Tamannaah have performed.

After the ceremony, the captains of CSK and MI, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, went out for the toss with initial luck favouring the former Indian skipper.

After winning the toss, Dhoni elected to field first in the first clash of the tournament.

The first edition of the T-20 tournament was organised in 2008.
