Sharjah, Apr 24 (IBNS) In a cruch game that went down to the wires, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by two runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Thursday.

Chasing KKR's 150 for seven, RCB needed nine off the last over when R Vinay Kumar bowled a brilliant last over to restrict Virat Kohli's side to 148 for five.

RCB openers-Parthiv Patel (21) and Yogesh Takawale (40)- raced to 67 in 7.3 overs.

KKR, however, bounced back by picking up the wickets of both the openers within a span of three balls.

Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh both contributed 31 runs each with their willows as they added 55 runs in the third wicket partnership.

Sunil Narine bowled out Kohli in the crucial phase of the innings to halt the smooth flow of runs.

Singh departed soon and RCB was left with a tough task.

In a crunch finish, KKR restricted RCB to 148.

R Vinay Kumar  picked up two wickets for KKR.

Earlier, KKR scored 150 for seven.

Chris Lynn remained the top scorer for KKR with his 31-ball 45.

He hammered three boundaries and three sixes in his knock.

Jacques Kallis also contributed 42 with his willow.

Varun Aaron picked up three wickets for RCB.
