New Delhi: Ending speculations about former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's retirement, wife Sakshi Dhoni tweeted saying, "Its called rumours !".

The speculation was sparked by present Indian skipper Virat Kohli who on Thursday posted on Twitter a picture where he is seen with Dhoni after beating Australia in the quarterfinals of the 2016 T20 World Cup.

"A game I can never forget. Special night. This man, made me run like in a fitness test @msdhoni " the skipper said in the tweet.

Following the post, several Twitter users speculated about the World-winning captain's retirement.

Dhoni, 38, was severely criticised for his slow batting and inability to accelerate in the 2019 World Cup.

After returning to India, he took a break and went for the military training in Jammu and Kashmir.

The former skipper has also not been picked for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.

He took retirement from the Test cricket few years ago.
