Jammu and Kashmir: Sports Deptt organize tug of war competitions at Baramullah

Baramullah: The Department of Youth Services and Sports conducted inter school district level Tug of war at Khawaja Bagh srinagar.

However, the competitions were organized in the age group of U/19 and U/17 boys and girls at High school Baramullah.

An impressive number of students participated in the said Event.

Many locals had gathered to witness the event.

In U/19 category (Boys) Higher Secondary School Sopore won the final against BHSS Baramulla while HSS Rampura won the final against GHSS Sopore in (Girls).

In the U/17 (Boys) category BHSS Spore defeated BHSS Baramulla in an enthralling match, where as in girls category HSS Rampura defeated GHSS Sopore.

Meanwhile, locals of the area have appreciated efforts of the Government particularly the Department of Youth Services & Sports in conducting sports activities for young boys and girls.

A middle aged businessman from the area, Mohammad Qasim who had come to witness the enthralling matches of Tug of War was heard saying that it is really heart-warming to see youth taking active part in sports as this is the best way to keep young blood away from the bad habits like drug abuse etc.
