J&K: Feroz Khan flags off Sarhad Kargil International Marathon, 2021

Kargil/IBNS: On the concluding day of the 'Iconic Week' celebrations under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor for LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan, flagged off the Sarhad Kargil International Marathon, 2021 at the Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Biamathang.

300 students from different educational institutions participated in the marathon held after a gap of two years.

The marathon was held in five different categories, including 42 kilometres full marathon, 21 kilometres half marathon, 10 kilometres half marathon, five kilometres half marathon and the Run for Unity. 

Feroz Khan said the event will go a long way to promote sports activities and tourism in the district.

“Youth has immense potential and talent. We have requested the Sarhad NGO to conduct skill enhancement training programmes for students to help them excel in sports activities,” Khan said.

He also announced that in coming years the Kargil International Marathon will be held on 17th and 18th September to promote sports activities in the district.
