KL Rahul slams century, India take comfortable lead over West Indies

Ahmedabad/IBNS: KL Rahul slammed a century to take India to a comfortable position on day two of the inaugural Test against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Friday.

India scored 218-3 at lunch on day two.

Rahul, who hit 12 fours, remained unbeaten at 100 when the players went for the meal.

The senior player was accompanied by wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who was unbeaten at 14.

Earlier, Indian captain Shubman Gill was dismissed after completing his 50.

India bowled out West Indies for a mere 162 on the first day of the Test on Thursday.

Siraj picked four wickets for 40 runs while Bumrah clinched three conceding 42 runs to the visitors.

Kuldeep Yadav, who had a brilliant Asia Cup, picked two wickets while his spin-bowling partner Washington Sundar grabbed one.
