Kohli smashes 108 no to help RCB beat Pune

Bangalore, May 7 (IBNS) In a battle between two Indian team skippers, Virat Kohli smashed 58-ball unbeaten 108 runs which helped Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Rising Pune Supergiants in an IPL clash by three wickets here on Saturday.

Chasing Pune's 191 runs for the loss of six wickets, RCB cruised to 195 runs by losing three wickets with three balls to spare.

Kohli smashed eight boundaries and seven sixes in his knock and remained at the middle of the wicket till the end to ensure a victory for his side.

Shane Watson added 36 runs with his bat at the end as joining Kohli they posted 46 runs in the third wicket partnership.

Kohli and KL Rahul (38) added 94 runs in the first wicket partnership to help his side give a solid start at the beginning of the innings.

RP Singh took a wicket for Pune.

Earlier, riding on Ajinkya Rahane's 74 runs  and Saurabh Tiwary's 39-ball 52, Pune posted a competitive total on the scorecard.

Rahane hit eight boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

  Shane Watson shined with the ball for Bangalore and took three wickets by giving away 24 runs.
