Lalit Modi removed as RCA president
Jaipur, Oct 11 (IBNS): Former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner and cricket administrator Lalit Modi was removed as the president of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) on Saturday to end its isolation and suspension by the Indian cricket board or BCCI.
Twentythree of the 33 districts voted against him as vice-president Amin Pathan is set to officiate as the acting president.
In May this year, Modi, who was banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was declared the president of RCA against the wishes of the BCCI which then prompted the latter to suspend RCA. The election of RCA was held under the supervision of court.
BCCI had appointed an ad hoc body instead after suspending RCA.
Modi, who is now in UK, had got a reprieve in August when in a significant judgement, the division bench of the Delhi High Court set aside all orders against Modi and restored his passport.
