Leander-Bopanna crash out of Rio

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 6 (IBNS): Indian Tennis fans suffered a shock as India's strong hopes for a medal suffered a jolt when Leander Paes and his men's double partner Rohan Bopanna crashed out of the Rio Olympics after being defeated in the first round of the tournament by Poland's Lukasz Kubot and Marcin Matkowski on Saturday.

The Indian pair were defeated by  4-6, 6-7 (6) margin by their opponents.

Bopanna and Paes tried to give some resistance in the second round but eventually lost the match.

Leander made his seventh Olympic appearance.
