Looking forward to our Asia Cup game against Pakistan: Rohit Sharma

| @indiablooms | Sep 15, 2018, at 07:31 pm

Dubai, Sept 15 (IBNS): Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has said his team is looking forward to playing the Asia Cup match against Pakistan.

He, however, said the focus should not be only on one particular match.

Sharma said other competing teams are also looking to win the trophy.

"We are looking forward to our game against Pakistan, but the focus should not be on just one game. There are other teams in the AsiaCup who are eying the cup as well,," Sharma said during a press conference.

The tournament commenced on Saturday with the match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Dubai.

Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli.

Selectors have rested Kohli for the tournament.

India arrived in the middle-eastern nation to play the Asia Cup after completing their long tour of England.

India will face arch-rival Pakistan in their opening match of the tournament on Sept 19.

This is the first time the two teams will face each other since the ICC Champions Trophy Final in 2017.

Pakistan defeated India to win the trophy.
