Kolkata, Aug 13 (IBNS): The second day of the Bengal Premier League at The Bengal Rowing Club saw a big upset when two Kolkata players – Manish Jain and Shahbaaz Khan – outclassed Arjuna Awardee and triple world billiards champion Rupesh Shah, helping their team ELVY 147 beat SHOOTING STARS 3-2.

Shahbaaz Khan had laid the foundation when he won the first frame beating Neeraj Khemka 71-42.

He later teamed up with Dhruv Agarwal to beat Rupesh Shah and Sunil Saraogi in the Doubles. Shooting Stars’ Benay Agarwal and Chandan Balmiki restored parity, beating Shivam Sharaf and Dhirendra Baid in their respective frames. Manish Jain then stepped up to win the decider 89-09.

The day saw another upset when Brijesh Damani-led Satrangi Squad was handed a shock defeat by The Rockets who crushed them 4-1.

The game started on a positive note with Damani leading at a point of time but Gulati made a strong comeback to beat him 65-51 on the first frame.
