Michael Emenalo quits Chelsea as technical director after 10 years
London, Nov 7 (IBNS): Michael Emenalo left Chelsea as the team's technical director on Tuesday, media reports said.
Emenalo has quit after serving the team for 10 years.
The 52 year-old former Nigerian player joined Chelsea in 2007 and worked in both scouting and coaching departments in initial years.
In 2011 he was promoted to the post of the technical director.
Announcing the decision, Emenalo told BBC: "This has been a very difficult decision to make, but one I believe is right for both myself and my family, and the club."
"I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the most talented people in the world of sport over the past 10 years, and I will depart incredibly proud of the achievements we have made" the former Chelsea technical director added.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck was quoted by BBC saying: "It is with regret that the owner and board of directors accepted Michael's resignation this week. We are sorry to see him go but understand his desire to move on and explore new challenges."
