MS Dhoni's last ball six helps Pune beat Kings by four wickets

Visakhapatnam, May 21 (IBNS): MS Dhoni showed his brilliance as a match finisher once again as he smashed a last ball six which helped his Rising Pune Supergiants beat Kings XI Punjab by four wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Saturday.

After R Ashwin's four wickets helped his side restrict Kings at 172 for seven, it was specially Dhoni's 32-ball 64 innings  and his heroic batting which helped Pune reach 173 runs for the loss of six wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

Dhoni, who hammered four boundaries  and five sixes in his knock, remained the top scorer for the side.

He remained unbeaten till the end of the innings.

Usman Khawaja (30) and Thisara Perera (23) contributed with the willow for Pune. Perera and Dhoni put up 58 runs sixth wicket partnership which helped Pune reach closer to victory.

It was Dhoni and Ashwin (1*)'s 29 runs seventh wicket stand which ensured a well fought victory at the end of the clash.

Gurkeerat Singh picked up two wickets for Kings.

Earlier, riding on skipper Murali Vijay  (59) and Gurkeerat Singh (51) Kings posted 172 on the scorecard.

South African Hashim Amla (30) and Vijay added 60 runs in the first wicket partnership to give Kings a strong start at the start of the innings.

It was Ashwin's 4-34 that helped Pune put some brakes on the Kings scoring and finally restricted tie side at 172 for seven in 20 overs.
