Mumbai, May 6 (IBNS): Despite a strong fight by Kolkata Knight Riders, they were defeated by 13 runs in an IPL match by Mumbai Indians here on Sunday.

Batting first, Mumbai first scored 181 runs for the loss of four wickets and then KKR were restricted at 168 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Robin Uthappa (54), Rana (31) and Dinesh Karthik (36*) tried hard but failed to take the scorecard to the winning target.

Robin played the key role after Chris Lynn (17) and Shubman Gill (7) departed early.

Lynn scored fast and added four fours in his 13-ball 17 runs knock.

Gill could not recreate the same magic as he did in the previous match and went back tot he dug out early.

Robin hit six boundaries and three sixes in his knock that remained the pick point of the KKR innings.

Dinesh tried his best at the end but did not have another support to give him company at the other end of the crease.

Hardik Pandya picked up two wickets for Mumbai.

Earlier, Mumbai scored 181 runs in their 20 overs.

Former KKR Suryakumar Yadav remained the top scorer for the side with his 59 runs knock.

West Indians Sunil Narine and Russell picked up two wickets each for KKR.
