Paul Pogba dedicates victory against Belgium to Thai cave rescued boys
Mumbai, July 11 (IBNS): France superstar Paul Pogba has dedicated the victory of his country over Belgium in the World Cup semifinals to rescued 12 boys from Thailand cave.
"This victory goes to the heroes of the day, well done boys, you are so strong #thaicaverescue #chiangrai," the footballer tweeted.
France defeated Belgium by 1-0 margin the semi-final of the tournament.
France will face the winners of the second semi-final match between England and Croatia to be played on Wednesday in Moscow.
France won the title in 1998 and reached the final of the tournament in 2006.
Italy defeated France in the final in 2006 to lift the title.
Russia is hosting the current edition of the World Cup.
Thailand rescue:
Ending a three-day long complex evacuation process, rescuers successfully brought out all the 12 boys and their football coach who were trapped in a flooded Thailand cave for the past two weeks, officials said.
The rescue operation commenced on Sunday after reports emerged few days ago that the missing boys and their coach were found alive inside the cave.
Rescuers pulled out the trapped people one after another since Sunday and the mission was completed on Tuesday when the final person was evacuated from the cave.
"12 wild pigs and coaches out of the cave. Safe everyone. This time, waiting to pick up 4 Frogs," posted the Thai Navy Seal on their Facebook page.
