Rohit's hundred power India beat Australia in fifth ODI, win series 4-1
Chasing a target of 243, India, quite comfortably reached the winning mark with 7.1 overs to spare as opening batsman Rohit Sharma went for a big hundred.
Coming out to bat, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, once again gave India a 100-run partnership, third in a row, putting the men-in blue in the driver's seat.
Though Rahane went out at 61, Rohit did not miss the chance to score a 100. He, along with skipper Virat Kohli, took the team closer to the winning score.
Rohit, after hitting 11 fours and 5 sixes, was dismissed at 125, followed by Kohli (39), in a short span of time.
However, Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey took India to home. While Jadhav was not out at 5, Pandey remained unbeaten at 11 till the end.
The Australian bowlers have hardly anything to take away from the match in a spin-friendly wicket in Nagpur. Adam Zampa had the best bowling figure for Australia with 2/59 in eight overs.
Earlier, winning the toss, Australia came out to bat first and had a good start. Though at one stage, Australia were 100-2, they kept on losing wickets and manged to put only 242/9 in 50 overs.
David Warner was the top scorer for Australia with 53 from 62 balls.
Travis Head and Marcus Stoinis scored 42 and 46 runs respectively to help Australia put up a fighting total.
Axar Patel got the best of the pitch as he bagged three wickets for 38 in 10 overs for India.
