Sachin, others pay tribute to Dhoni's captaincy

New Delhi, Jan 5 (IBNS): Former Indian cricketers appreciated MS Dhoni's tenure as the captain of the Indian cricket side after he decided to announce his resignation from the position on Wednesday.

Batting icon Sachin Tendulkar tweeted: "@msdhoni #captain."

Former batsman Mohammad Kaif said Indian team was blessed to have such a captain like Dhoni leading the side for nine years.

"Take a bow @msdhoni .To lead India for 9 years with such wonderful results, India were really blessed to have you as #Captain," Kaif tweeted.

Former cricketer and selector Kris Srikkanth ‏said: "Sign of a true leader is to know when to pass the baton!Thank u for the entertainment skipper u r an #Inspiration @msdhoni #livinglegend."

Dhoni announced his decision to quit as the captain of the Indian ODI and T20 side on Wednesday.

He had retired from Tests in 2014,.
