Twitterati slam Kohli for wearing shorts during toss in Australia

Sydney, Nov 29 (IBNS): Controversy seems to be not leaving Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli even after reaching Australia.

On Wednesday, Kohli came out wearing shorts at toss during India-Cricket Australia XI four-day practice match.

The attire, however, has not gone down well by several Twitterati, who slammed the skipper in the micro-blogging site.

Some of the reactions:

A person with username KhalidTantray2 tweeted, "Disrespectful act by @imVkohli wearing shorts during toss"

Prakash said: "Disgraceful and disrespectful... There was time captains used to wear Blazers during toss.... This behavior is absolutely unpardonable...."

Another angry Twitter user said: "This @imVkohli bad attitude is showing no any respect for game and their legacy why @bcci @icc @accessonline n other cricket members think about this. Where is #sunilgavaskar who taunted in #Aisacup to Pakistaniplayer for their cap??? What @imVkohli is showing"

Twitter user with VG said: "No matter @imVkohli is the new age best batsman, he still needs 2 give proper respect to cricket atleast for the sake of opposition team by being respectfully dress up in trousers n ur nations cap, else legacy he will leave behind will be harmful !!"

During toss of any Test match, captains, generally, wear trousers, t-shirts and a blazer.

Days ago, Kohli had stirred row by asking a critic to leave the country for liking foreign batsmen and not Indians.

The skipper said this while he was interacting with his fans through virtual world on the occasion of launching his own application.

Kohli, much like the incident in Australia, had then faced backlash on Twitter.
