Umar Akmal to play for Leicestershire CCC

London, May 13 (IBNS) Leicestershire CCC has signed Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal for part of the NatWest T20 Blast tournament in 2015.

"The Foxes’ new signing will play four games in June covering for overseas signing Grant Elliott, who is on New Zealand ODI duty against England next month," read the club website.

Umar said was quoted as saying by the club website: “This will be my first time playing T20 for a county and I am very excited to be handed this opportunity.  The club have put their trust in me so I will give my 100 per cent efforts to repay their faith.”
