Why carry Rishabh Pant only to warm bench? Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal questions Indian team selection

New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has lashed out at the Indian team selection questioning the absence of young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant in the playing XI.

Jindal, who is the head of Jindal South West Sports (JSW Sports), tweeted, "And why carry @RishabhPant17 only for him to warm the bench? Surely he would have benefited from paying against New Zealand A or domestic cricket? To see a player as talented as him not play the 5th T20 and now the 3rd ODI makes no sense #Xfactor"

Pant, who plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has recently lost his place in the Indian team to in-form batsman KL Rahul who is also successfully doing the wicketkeeper's job.

After getting dropped in the last T20 match against New Zealand, Pant missed the entire One Day International (ODI) series against the Kiwis.

Not only Pant, Jindal also feels allrounder Ravichandran Ashwin should also be included in the Indian team for the limited overs cricket.

In an earlier tweet, he had said, "Don’t know why @ashwinravi99 is not in this team! There seems to be an aversion to wicket takers! After white washing the kiwis in T20’s the Kiwis showing India that the semi final victory in the World Cup was no fluke. India needs wicket takers and players with X factor."
