World Boxing Championship: India’s Saweety Boora beats China's Wang Lina; grabs gold in 81kg category

New Delhi/IBNS: India’s Saweety Boora won the gold medal in the 81kg category of the IBA Women's World Boxing Championship by defeating Wang Lina of China 4-3 in the final at the IG Stadium.

During the bout, there were some moments of tension when Saweety's opponent pushed her, but the referee intervened in a timely manner.

The contest was closely fought, with Wang Lina attempting to take control, but Saweety defended her lead throughout all three rounds.

In the first two rounds, the Indian fighter won by a score of 3-2, and in the final round, she won 4-1 to secure the gold medal.

Earlier in the day, India's Nitu Ghanghas won the gold medal in the 48kg category by defeating Lutsaikhan Altansetseg of Mongolia 5-0.
