Puducherry, Aug 16 (IBNS): Chief Minister of Puducherry, V Narayanasamy, on Wednesday, inaugurated the resumption of air services from Puducherry to Hyderabad, according to media reports.

The Puducherry Airport, which was dormant over the past three years, is located at Lawspet in the Union Territory.

The airport will connect with Hyderabad in the first phase.

Almost a month back, Spice Jet had announced it will operate a daily direct flight on the UDAN route of Hyderabad-Puducherry-Hyderabad.

'Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik' or UDAN is a scheme mooted by the BJP government at the Centre to offer air connectivity to small towns at a reasonable rate.
