Two separate attacks in Balochistan's Gwadar district and the North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday left at least 12 Pakistan Army personnel killed, media reports said.

At least six security personnel were killed in the first incident after a convoy of state-run Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) was attacked on the coastal highway in Balochistan’s Ormara, Radio Pakistan reported.

In another incident, six Pakistan Army personnel were killed after an IED explosion near the Razmak area of North Waziristan, reports Zee News.

Pakistan Army officials had cordoned off the area after the blast.

A search operation was also launched later.

Soon after the incidents, the Baloch Raji Ajoi Singer (BRAS) claimed the responsibility for the attack in a Twitter post, adding that they will issue a detailed statement soon, reports Zee News.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Imran Khan condoled the loss of lives in the incidents.

He also put the number of Army men killed in the attacks to 20.

PM Khan tweeted, "My deepest condolences & prayers for the 20 security personnel, including 6 army men, martyred in 2 cowardly acts of terrorism yesterday. The entire nation stands behind all our security forces as they continue to lay down their lives for the safety & security of Pakistan."
