Afghan police arrest top Al-Qaeda leader, one killed

Kabul, Dec 10 (IBNS): A top Al-Qaeda leader was arrested and another killed by Afghan police during an operation, local Khaama Press reported.

The militant was reportedly nabbed in Nangarhar province's Khogyani district.

He was caught sending funds to militants.

The agency quoted Afghanistan's Ministry of Interiors (MoI) spokesperson as saying that the militant was injured during the operation.

The MoI further said that the nabbed militant is from Pakistan.

The Al-Qaeda is yet to comment on the report.
