Afghanistan: 23 militants join peace committee

Kabul, June 23 (IBNS): At least 23 militants have joined peace committee in Afghanistan on Tuesday, media reports said.

Malak Nazir, head of peace committee, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 23 insurgents joined peace process who were earlier involved in ant-state activities in the area.

Nazir said the militants will work for building the nation.

Zarin Khan, commander of the militants, was quoted as saying by the agency: “I had ten fighters under my command I brought six of them along with me. We were involved in anti-state activities and planting roadside bombs.”
