Afghanistan: Five killed in Kabul airport suicide attack

Kabul, Aug 10 (IBNS) At least five people were killed in a suicide attack at the entrance gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Monday, officials said.

The attack left 16 others injured.

Country's Ministry of Interior Affairs has condemned the attack.

"The Ministry of Interior Affairs condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack at the entrance gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport which resulted five civilians killed and 16 others wounded," read the Ministry's website.

"The incident took place while a suicide car bomber had struck the front gate of the airport at 12:00 PM," it said.

The wounded were taken to a nearby hospital.

The police have launched serious investigation in to the case, the Ministry said.
