Afghanistan: Gunmen kill four border police, abduct 13 construction workers

Kabul, Jun 22 (IBNS): A group of gunmen abducted at least 13 construction workers in Afghanistan's Kandahar province on Thursday evening, local media reports said on Friday.

The gunmen, who faced resistance from Afghan Border Police, killed four of its members before abducting the construction workers.

The abductees are employees of a company who is working on the construction of Spin Boldak-Shorabak road.

The perpetrators attacked the company's office in Spin Boldak district, an official release said.

It added that after the abduction, the gunmen also torched several equipment belonging to the construction company.
