Afghanistan: Traffic accident claims 24 lives

Kabul, Aug 31 (IBNS): At least 24 people lost their lives in a traffic accident on Islam Qala highway in western Herat province of Afghanistan on Sunday, media reports said.
Rafiq Sherzai, director city hospital, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 24 bodies, including five women, four children, with another four wounded had been brought to the hospital.
 
This comes after a mini passenger bus was on its way to Herat City collided head-on with a truck in the Maslah locality on the highway.
 
Police reportedly detained the driver of the truck, who was blamed for reckless driving.
