Afghanistan: Traffic officer gunned down in Jalalabad

Kabul, Sept 30 (IBNS): A traffic officer was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Afghanistan's Jalalabad area on Sunday, media reports said.

Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Maloocho Kusa area in limits of the 4th police district at around 7am.

He told the Afghanistan-based news agency that traffic officer Mohammad Wais was no his way to duty when gunned down by the unknown armed man, who managed to flee the area. A search is underway by police.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
