Afghanistan: Women in Nangarhar protest in support to Taliban

Nangarhar: Nangarhar province in Afghanistan witnessed a strange protest recently when women demonstrated in support of Taliban insurgents who have taken control over the nation.

The participating women demonstrators condemned the previous all-women protests in Kabul and other provinces.

They reacted against those who protested against the Taliban and called them to be doing so for their self-interests, reports Khaama Press.

This is the second protest of the same kind in the past three days. The first demonstration was arranged by university students and lecturers in Kabul on Saturday, September 11, the news agency reported.

The demonstrating women in Jalalabad city asked IEA to be given their rights to education and work under Islamic principles.

The Taliban took control over Afghanistan on Aug 15 by capturing Kabul.
