Dhaka/UNI: Detective Police (DB) has arrested a freelance journalist in Goalunda Upazila of Rajbari district in Bangladesh on the charge of making 'indecent remark about Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina'

A team of DB on Saturday arrested Rabiul Islam Khandaker Moznu, son of Rustom Ali Khandoker of Binodpur area of the district town.

Rabiul does journalism out of hobby. He has a mobile servicing shop at Haji Super Market at Rajbari Bazaar.

Azizul Islam Mondal, joint convenor of Daulatdia union unit, Rajbari district of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of ruling Awami League, on Friday filed the case with Goalunda thana under the Digital Security Act 2018.

In the case statement, it was stated that Rabiul in his Facebook post on Oct 6 made unwanted remark about the Prime Minister.

Swapan Kumar Majumder, officer-in-charge of Rajbari Sadar Police Station, said that a woman and an Awami League leader of Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari filed a separate case against Rabiul with Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka under Digital Security Act recently.
