Tehran, Jan 14 (IBNS): A cargo plane with 16 on board crashed in Iran's Alborz province during landing on Monday morning, reports said.

According to Iran's Press TV, the Boeing 707 aircraft attempted to land at the wrong airport and overshot the runway during landing.

Seven bodies have been found yet.

According to reports, the military aircraft, which was flying in from Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek carrying meat, was due to arrive at Karaj's Payam Airport but the pilot took the plane to the Fath airfield by mistake.

During the landing, the pilot lost control of the plane, overshot the runway and hit the airport boundary wall before reportedly bursting into flames.
