First woman to ascend Mount Everest dies
Tokyo, Oct 23 (IBNS): The first woman, who ascended Mount Everest, has died, Japanese media reports said on Sunday.
According to media reports,Japanese mountaineer Junko Tabei died of peritoneal cancer on Oct 20.
She was 77.
"Tabei died of peritoneal cancer at a Saitama hospital on Oct. 20 at the age of 77," Kyodo News agency reported quoting her family.
