Washington, Jan 10 (IBNS): A recent report has stated Hindus are the most educated religious community on the basis of their college degrees in the US, media reports said.

Hindus are followed by others religions like Unitarians Universalists, Jews, Anglicans and congregants of the Episcopal Church, Hindustan Times reported.

The study, which was done by Pew Research Center, stated 77 per cent of Hindus are having college degrees.

Though the US doesn't keep any record of its population on the basis of religion, Pew stated in 2014 that approximately 0.7 per cent of Americans could be Hindus with majority of them coming from India.

Unitarians, who believe God is one person in Christianity, follows Hindus with 67 per cent.

Jews and Anglican Church jointly became third with 59 per cent.

Episcopal church clinched the last position of the top five with 56 per cent (approx.).

Forty-three percent and 42 per cent of Atheists and Agnostics are educated, the survey said.

Thirty-nine per cent of Muslims and 26 per cent of Catholics have college degrees.
